The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund
The Royal Couple has decided to set up “The Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton Charitable Gift Fund” which is a charity foundation where all their wedding gifts and money shall be donated. This fund was also created to honor Princess Diana’s charity work. Now on the 29th of April 2011, all the public and wedding guests can donate their money to a noble cause. Prince William and Kate are the first royal couple to ever request charitable gifts instead of wedding presents.
The five charities chosen are not in any way connected to the royal family or Kate Middleton. These five causes reflect the couple’s passion and concern.
You can go to the website to make an online donation to one or all five charities. The foundation itself will not deduct any administration or other costs from your donation.
The Five Selected Charity Causes by William and Kate are:
1. Children Fulfilling Their Potential
These are in the areas of higher education, instilling confidence and other skills into children, healthcare and a program called “Beat bullying” designed specifically for this epic problem.
2. Support for Services personnel and their families
Designed for those who are and were serving in the Armed Services. They involve bereavement care for widows and widowers, combat stress and to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary and the New Zealand Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.
3. Changing lives through Arts and Sport
It involves the environment, dance, basketball tournaments, sailing adventures for those with special needs and their families.
4. Help and Care at Home
One of these charities is for the home province of Kate Middleton. The Berkshire Community provides grants for local projects. Others provide counseling services, quality care for terminally ill children and finding local projects in Wales and Scotland.
5. Conservation for future generations
Preserving wildlife that is in grave danger of becoming extinct. These are the African and Asian elephants, rhinos and other species of tigers.
This is certainly a very noble and humble beginning of a new life together that makes all of us feel so proud of the newly weds. We wish them the very best for their future.
