Amy Adams The Next Lois Lane
The 36 year old Oscar Nominee for Best Supporting Actress, Amy Adams has been selected to play the role of Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman Reboot. She will play the enterprising Daily Planet journalist and the love interest of Clark Kent/ Superman played by British actor Henry Cavill. Her famous role has been previously played by Noel Neill, Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher and Kate Bosworth. Earlier it was speculated that Kristen Stewart would be selected to play Lois Lane. Amy Adams received her third Oscar nomination this year for her Supporting Role in “The Fighter”.
Zack Snyder who will be directing the Warner Bros. film was quoted saying in a statement on Sunday:
“There was a big, giant search for Lois,” director Zack Snyder told the newspaper. “For us it was a big thing and obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it.”
“Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about, So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”
The dynamic Christopher Nolan will be producing the film. Other stars included in the cast are Diane Lane and Kevin Costner who will play Clark Kent’s adoptive parents.
The yet untitled Superman Reboot is all set to be released in December 2012.
